Lately: I felt compiled to post something about my heritage.
I'm Cherokee Nation Indigenous Native American.
To often I'm asked, who are indigenous people as in reference that I'm calling out one race of people from another.
Honestly, it's sorta disrespectful to ask an member of a Nation Federal recognize tribe that questions. As if we don't see all as brothers and sisters of one creations through all ancestors of The Great Spirit.
I felt often times, than not to have explain such likeness to those whom never would get it, in the first place to ask.
*If your non native, you should take time read up on people like Chief Wilma Mankiller.
My favorite quote from her;
-An Indian is an Indian regardless of the degree of Indian blood, or which little government card they do or do not possess.
For those non-native I follow this up with Mankiller next favorite quote from her;
-Though many non-Native Americans have learned very little about us, over time we had to have learn everything about them.
Why bring this topic up to blog about?
I feel it's important to advocate chivalry has not been completed in showing we are still among our brothers and sisters.
I like take time out in this blog to end with few links to how you can support the movement.
I don't know this groups of native ladies out sending healing and employment, among nation's land personal, but giving them a shut out go follow and support their cause too!
Thanks for reading, and many blessings to All!
